Crafting Clay Animals offers books and clay kits for kids 6 and up, inspired by world travels and classroom creativity.
Launching with the Montana Wildlife Edition book, this site celebrates hands-on learning through clay modeling.
The author teaches “Animals Around the World” to 2nd–5th graders at Missoula International School in Montana.

Books
The Montana Wildlife edition of Crafting Clay Animals inspires children ages 6-12 to craft 16 wild animals in modeling clay. This is the first of several editions to come! Look for tropical and ocean animals in the upcoming Virgin Islands edition, and get ready for an artistic safari with the African and Asian editions.
Clay Kits & Accessories
Crafting Clay Animals currently offers two sizes of basic clay kits and two specialized animal kits.
The Busy Bee kit (pictured above) includes instructions for making a bumble bee, six colors of air-dried clay, and two clay tools. The Horsin’ Around Kit is a larger version of the Busy Bee kit. Max the Moose and Berry the Bear are kits for making specific animals. More to come!
Workshops
Contact us to arrange a clay modeling workshop at your retail location! Some possible themes include making bald eagles for the 4th of July, Grizzlies and Bobcats for football season, and turkeys for Thanksgiving. Offering a clay modeling workshop can bring customers into your store. Other animals and holiday themes are also available.
